Nearly a year after Microsoft released its ambitious Windows 8 operating system and steady stream of leaks, which eventually turned into confirmations and updates, Microsoft has officially released Windows 8.1 (code-named Windows Blue). The update, free to current Windows 8 users, is now available for download in the Windows Store, announced Microsoft spokesman Brandon LeBlanc in an October 17, 2013, Blogging Windows post. The first batch of devices that run Windows 8.1 along with DVDs containing the OS went offcial on sale October 18. Windows 8.1 Enterprise includes the Windows To Go Creator, which allows organisations to create a Windows desktop on a portable and bootable USB drive.
